Digital Humanities at Oxford Summer School 2013 - Terms and Conditions

 

1. Introduction

2. Definitions

In these terms and conditions:

  • "IT Services" means the University of Oxford's IT Services
  • "DHOxSS" means the Digital Humanities at Oxford Summer School
  • "Applicant" means an individual who has submitted a booking form for a course
  • "Participant" means an individual who has a confirmed place on a course
  • "In Writing" means by letter, email, or fax

3. Booking procedure

Applicants should complete the booking form when available. Bookings must be made by the applicant. You should be able to register up to 5 separate people, but if you have difficulty registering more than one person please contact the Courses Office. Places cannot be reserved before a course opens for booking.

By paying for DHOxSS applicants are agreeing to the cancellation terms and conditions of booking.

Accommodation at Wolfson College, if required, must be booked at least 7 working days before the start of the event. The refund policy below applies to the registration fee and accommodation bookings.

4. Booking confirmation

Acknowledgement of the booking will be sent via email.

5. Joining instructions

Joining instructions will be sent via email prior to DHOxSS.

6. Prerequisites

Applicants must ensure that the have attained any prerequisite knowledge as may be set out in the course description.

7. Charging

There is a participant charge which includes a charge for event resources. Payment is required in advance.

8. Payment methods

 

Payment will usually be made by Credit or Debit Card using our online booking system. Other options are possible, such as payment by Invoice or University of Oxford purchase order, but require you to contact the courses office by phone or email. In the case of payment by purchase order, it is required that this be sent to us prior to the course. Participants must make sure that they have a confirmed place at DHOxSS before sending a purchase order for payment

9. Substitutions

Substitutions may be made by contacting the Course Office prior to the course. This must be done to ensure that records are up-to-date and that attendance certificates/registers can be produced correctly.

10. Cancellation of an event or course by IT Services

On occasion, unforeseen circumstances may require IT Services to cancel an event or course. In such circumstances IT Services will give as much notice as possible and endeavour to organise another event date, or refund any fees paid but no compensation will be paid for any additional costs incurred. We recommend that your travel insurance adequately covers last minute travel delays and disruption.

11. Refunds

The following refund policy is applicable for DHOxSS.

Where notice of cancellation is received we will refund a proportion of the course fee. This amount will be confirmed once booking is open. The non-refundable portion of the course fee is £225 and cannot be reimbursed.

Note: the periods reference the day on which we receive your written notification of cancellation
