Project Description:

Artefact is inspired by the four University Museums' collections (Pitt Rivers Museum, Ashmolean, Oxford University Museum of Natural History, Museum of the History of Science). Using the wealth of the collections, this site aims to inspire art students, teachers and professional artists. Browsers can discover images of objects, specimens and historical illustrations, download image worksheets, view animated sketchbooks and explore a variety of ways in which artists have worked with the collections. Groups can register and upload work, and organise visits.
