Digital Humanities Interests: My research, based at the Centre for the Study of Ancient Documents, has mainly focussed on: the application of ICT to the development of text-and-image resources for the study of Latin and Greek documents in the historical context of the Roman Empire, especially the writing-tablets from Roman Britain; of the Roman Empire, especially the writing–tablets from Roman Britain; improving ways of supporting in an ICT environment the cognitive processes involved in the decipherment and interpretation of degraded texts through decision support software, tracking processes of interpretation and chains of reasoning/argumentation; developing new methods of image-capture for degraded documents with incised--3-dimensional--writing, especially Roman stilus and lead curse tablets.
