Project Description:
The Bibliography of British and Irish History (BBIH) replaced the RHS Bibliography on 1 January 2010. This database aims to make bibliographic data on British History electronically available, and it is interoperable with a wide range of other online resorces. It contains all of the data previously available in the RHS Bibliography, including its partner projects, London’s Past Online and (up to the end of 2009) Irish History Online. BBIH is updated three times a year and now includes over 490,000 records describing books and articles about British and Irish history.
BBIH is the result of a partnership between the Royal Historical Society, the Institute of Historical Research and Brepols Publishers, and is a subscription service, although both the Society and the Institute are making a financial contribution to the Bibliography in order to keep subscriptions as low as possible.
Dr Archer handed over the Academic Editorship of this project to Professor Stephen Taylor in January 2011.
